Position Overview
Vacation Innovations is seeking an experienced and passionate Email Marketing Manager. The successful candidate is responsible for strategy, planning and deployment of email campaigns across multiple business lines and brands. They will organize, manage, and launch email campaigns and digital assets, analyze metrics and report results to senior leaders, and make recommendations on programs based on performance metrics to drive optimized email strategies for each business line.
This position reports to the Director of Email Marketing and will work closely with various departments throughout the organization to directly support business and membership initiatives. He/she will be responsible for collaborating with various stakeholders to provide innovative, strategic, and efficient email and digital solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Email Marketing Development (40%)
- Responsible for management of email marketing infrastructure, process development, and creation of best practices.
- Manage program strategy and delivered content to meet business objectives, obtain necessary approvals, and drive results.
- Manage CRM solutions (Salesforce) supporting email initiatives; segment and target audiences to deliver relevant offers/promotions.
- Utilize ESP platforms (Salesforce Marketing Cloud) for email creation and monitoring deliverability.
- Build emails using HTML, SQL scripting for automated and triggered deployments, and AMPScript.
- Provide direct code requirements for IT partners and administer quality control UAT testing.
- Manage projects to ensure quality, productivity, and deadlines are met.
- Develop written SOPs to document program objectives, define business standards, and outline performance KPIs for the team.
- Maintain best-in-class standards for CAN-SPAM email compliance.
- Strategic Partnering (30%)
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to develop strategies and provide feedback for executing promotional email marketing campaigns, lifecycle emails, and retention/reactivation programs.
- Collaborate with internal teams including CRO and IT to deliver efficient, effective, branded, and approved campaigns while ensuring compliance and cohesive messaging.
- Work closely with the marketing team to maximize messaging and support operational requirements for launching email solutions.
- Coordinate with marketing, product, sales, and operations teams to ensure communications align with larger business strategies and company objectives.
- Analysis & Other (30%)
- Create tracking, analytics, and reporting systems to measure email program performance and adjust campaigns to optimize results.
- Review email performance metrics, deliverability scores, and key performance indicators.
- Analyze channel performance to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement; develop and execute tests and optimizations.
- Report and present program results to leadership, highlighting key drivers such as response rates, inbound calls, bookings, arrivals, and revenue (ROI).
- Collaborate with the Analytics team to facilitate data tracking for web analytics and performance metrics.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, design technology, and tools.
- Manage and support the growth of direct reports as needed.
- Perform any additional duties assigned to meet business needs.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience working with digital and email marketing; or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
- Experience sending and managing email communications through a third-party provider (Salesforce Marketing Cloud), required.
- Experience managing multiple marketing programs and emails simultaneously.
- Experience managing email marketing campaigns with multiple test cells, varied by message, offer, and distribution vehicle.
- Experience developing and analyzing reports to measure program success, required.
- Understanding of audience segmentation, A/B testing, and email rendering through ESP.
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, Photoshop, and responsive email best practices.
- Must be comfortable and effective in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing, Computer Science, or another relevant field.
- Experience working with Salesforce Marketing Cloud ESP and tools such as Litmus.
- Understanding of database marketing, modeling, and target marketing based on historical data and trend analysis.
- Experience building and validating HTML for email.
- Knowledge and experience in membership travel services, timeshare, or vacation ownership industries.
