Job Description

Position Overview

The Supplemental Health Account Executive role is a field‐based supplemental health sales position that partners with the Cigna field sales and account management teams to drive product growth. This role focuses on Accidental Injury (AI), Critical Illness (CI), and Hospital Indemnity (HI) products while serving a designated Cigna sales office. Location: Plano, TX – servicing North Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. The position requires 1-2 days per week in the Plano office and over 50% weekly travel, including occasional out-of-state overnights. If working from home, applicants must have high-speed internet (minimum 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload).

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive market level distribution strategy by partnering with market leadership to develop and execute growth initiatives for AI, CI, and HI product sales among clients with 100-3,000 lives, incorporating broker relationships and competitive intelligence.
  • Collaborate with matrix partners and serve as a resource liaison for operations, sharing market feedback to inform underwriting, pricing, and enrollment strategies.
  • Achieve designated supplemental health sales goals, including new business sales, existing business sales, and persistency bonuses.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Proven industry experience with a history of delivering consistent business results
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, rapidly changing, team-based environment while balancing long-term projects and immediate deadlines
  • Demonstrated capability to foster collaboration, value diverse perspectives, and secure support for organizational initiatives
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with proven leadership in a heavily matrixed environment
