Position Overview
At Lilly, we unite caring with discovery to make life better for people around the world. As a Software Product Engineering Technical Lead, you will develop and lead technical solutions for our Digital Health platforms. You’ll collaborate with multiple teams to define technical requirements, drive architectural designs, and ensure that our solutions meet strict regulatory standards. This role plays a critical part in transforming the customer experience and advancing our platform innovation roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and drive adoption of platform development standards and architecture patterns across the organization.
- Enable technical delivery of SPE software components, addressing risk, privacy, cybersecurity, and legal constraints.
- Drive design of new feature requests ensuring solutions are highly scalable and resilient.
- Align technical solutions with Lilly supported technologies and regulatory expectations.
- Provide technical evaluation of proposed project ideas, software changes, and future product releases.
- Drive the development and execution of our platform innovation roadmap with proof of concept models in emerging technology areas.
- Mentor more junior technical team members.
- Build effective relationships with key technical resources and architects to influence technology solutions.
- Provide guidance to both Lilly and non-Lilly software delivery teams in Agile best practices.
- Ensure solutions align with medical device delivery models and quality system requirements.
- Integrate knowledge of Lilly business processes and technology strategies in solution delivery.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED with 10+ years of hands-on technical experience with modern cloud and web technologies OR a Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline.
- 7+ years of experience delivering software solutions across the entire development lifecycle (design, development, testing, deployment, and support).
- 5+ years of technical leadership experience in software project delivery.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States; note that Lilly does not provide sponsorship for employment visa status.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to manage multiple software development and integration efforts concurrently.
- Demonstrated experience in leading software design and architecture initiatives.
- Proven ability to propose innovative ideas and influence peers.
- Initiative to learn new technologies and adapt learned skills.
- Practical knowledge of Agile software development concepts and implementations.
- Experience with architected asynchronous systems, utilizing tools like Kafka or similar.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, and other cloud service providers.
- Experience with identity management or authentication providers (preferably Okta).
- Familiarity with GitHub and CI/CD capabilities along with industry best practices.
- Experience utilizing Atlassian toolsets (Jira/Confluence) or similar.
- High level of intellectual curiosity, an external perspective, and a strong interest in innovation.
