Position Overview

Altera, a member of the N. Harris Computer Corporation family, delivers health IT solutions that support caregivers around the world. The associate project manager will drive execution of projects—ensuring that commitments are delivered on time, within scope, to budget, and to the required quality standards. This role involves proactive collaboration with project teams and stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business and contractual obligations, and to solidify client and key stakeholder satisfaction.This is a remote role in the US; candidates should also be prepared for up to 10% travel and occasional after-hours/on-call support during peak periods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver projects on schedule and within budget as specified by project plans.
  • Ensure the use of appropriate processes and standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage project risks through prioritization, planning, and delivery.
  • Define a communication plan suitable to the project size and importance.
  • Clearly define and document project scope at the onset of the project.
  • Manage scope changes and change requests, escalating when necessary regarding impacts on costs, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Anticipate and communicate the impact of project decisions and actions on client commitments and expectations.
  • Create and monitor risk logs and actively mitigate all risks.
  • Demonstrate project control through disciplined measurement, assessment, planning, and reporting.
  • Establish trusted relationships with the project team, key influencers/stakeholders, and executive leadership.
  • Consistently complete project status reporting and related meetings.
  • Build relationships across internal and external organizational functions, including decision makers.
  • Motivate the team to drive toward success and overcome challenges.
  • Share and encourage the sharing of lessons learned from each project.
  • Identify, suggest, and implement improvements to processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent business/technical experience.
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, PRINCE2 or similar project management certification is preferred.
  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Solid organization and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for working with diverse personality types.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with teams and stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, creative, and efficient in proposing solutions to complex, time-critical problems.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to facilitate discussion, identify alternative approaches, and resolve conflicts.
  • Capability to identify and remove impediments to team progress.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams).
