Position Overview
AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in Philadelphia on October 9–10, 2025. This exciting event starts with a networking mixer on Thursday evening followed by interviews on Friday. The event is an excellent opportunity to connect with AECOM regarding early career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2026 for an Entry-Level Civil Engineer – Remediation role. This position, based in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, or Virginia, involves approximately 60% field work and 40% office work with responsibilities spanning investigation engineering, design, and construction management in environmental remediation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of assignments to develop professional work knowledge and skills using standard techniques and procedures.
- Build analytic and design skills through engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Collaborate with the design team to create calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic, and final working drawings.
- Collect and analyze data using computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
- Perform tasks in line with agreed budgets and schedules under appropriate supervision.
- Assist the Project Management team with administration on projects of varying sizes and scopes.
- Attend meetings and report on project tasks as required.
- Conduct field work including site inspections, sampling, and contractor oversight (approximately 60% of work).
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS in Civil Engineering or a related field; 0 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of education.
- U.S. Citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.
- Valid US Driver's License; selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience related to Civil Engineering field work and study.
- Experience in construction or remediation projects.
- EIT, EI, or the ability to obtain certification prior to starting the position.
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Project.
