Job Description
Position Overview
Entry Level Machine Operators produce machined parts under close supervision by operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines. The role requires maintaining quality and safety standards, accurate time and record keeping, and demonstrating superior cleanliness and organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Practice safety standards as identified by the Company Handbook, orientation, and verbal instruction from supervisory staff, including the proper use of safety glasses, proper shoes, correct lifting techniques, and safe chip handling.
- Maintain clean and organized gage tables and work area, including wiping down machines according to chip guidelines and mopping floors at the end of each shift.
- Proficiently complete production tags and production logs, ensuring legible writing.
- Accurately perform all functions at the clock emulator, including punching in and out at the start and end of each shift.
- Use scales to weigh and count production pieces.
- Pull chips when required or instructed and place them in the proper material location.
- Check and record Material Heat Lot numbers.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read a limited number of two and three-syllable words, recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers, and print and speak simple sentences in English.
- Proficiency in basic arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, along with the ability to compute rates.
- Capability to apply common sense understanding in carrying out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form, and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Physical ability to stand, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms, including lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds, with required close vision and ability to adjust focus.
