We are seeking a highly skilled Hardware Engineer to develop next‐generation AI/ML acceleration hardware platforms for edge computing. In this role, you will drive innovation across ASIC/SOC silicon platforms including MCUs, MPUs, and FPGAs while collaborating with cross‐functional teams to integrate AI/ML solutions into cutting-edge products.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop AI/ML acceleration hardware systems in ASIC/SOC silicon platforms, including microcontrollers, microprocessors, and FPGAs.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers, architects, and software engineers to integrate high-performance, low-power AI/ML solutions into edge devices.
- Partner with verification, DFT, and physical design engineers to implement hardware solutions on leading process technologies.
- Work with various business units to integrate AI/ML hardware into new vertical silicon platforms across diverse process node technologies.
- Foster a team environment that embraces innovation and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in hardware architecture and design, focusing on microprocessor-based systems definition, implementation, verification, and testing.
- Deep experience in hardware design using RTL system-level design, simulation, and synthesis tools, with hands-on expertise from RTL to GDSII using System Verilog and industry-standard ASIC/SoC tools.
- Proficiency in Agile project management and Git SCM workflow.
- Understanding of System Verilog UVM testing, DFT tools, and emulation methodologies.
- Experience with systems architectures including Arm, MIPS, RISC-V, PIC, and dsPIC microprocessors.
- Knowledge of hardware system buses such as AMBA AXI, AHB, and APB.
- Expertise in memory subsystem architecture, including NVRAM, SRAM, and DRAM technologies.
- Experience with embedded systems technologies in motor and lighting control, ethernet, USB, security, cryptography, AI/ML, and multimedia subsystems.
- Strong Unix/Linux skills with programming proficiency in Bash, Perl, Python, C, C++, and YAML.
- Ability to effectively work across different departments, cultures, and time zones.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with machine learning development tools and frameworks such as the MPLAB Machine Learning Development Suite, TensorFlow/TFLite, PyTorch, Keras, and ONNX.
- Good understanding of NPU/GPU and hardware acceleration techniques for edge computing applications.
- Experience with FPGA architectures and implementation of RTL designs in FPGA systems.
- Familiarity with management systems such as Polarion and Atlassian (Jira, Confluence) toolsuite.
- Knowledge of security and privacy in edge computing and cyber security analysis using ISO-21434 workflow requirements.
- Understanding of Functional Safety Development and analysis methods using ISO-26262 workflow requirements.
