ZenBusiness is seeking a Director of Content Marketing to establish and scale our content marketing function through strategic leadership and hands-on execution. Reporting to the VP of Brand Marketing, you will own content strategy and narrative execution, transforming our brand strategy into clear content priorities, systems, and storytelling that drive both near-term activation and long-term brand building.

Key Responsibilities
- Define and develop ZenBusiness's content marketing strategy in alignment with brand positioning, business goals, and audience needs.
- Scale critical content pillars—including data-driven storytelling and customer narratives—and translate brand strategy into clear editorial themes and narrative frameworks.
- Establish a foundational content system comprising editorial planning, briefing standards, review and QA processes, and effective governance.
- Implement a modern, AI-forward approach to enhance content quality, speed, and scalability while optimizing team workflows.
- Act as a player–coach by actively shaping content—outlining, writing, editing, and refining key assets—and by leading through example.
- Guide and review content across various formats including written copy, marketing website content, lifecycle messaging, and narrative-driven video.
- Collaborate with Brand Marketing, Growth Marketing, Creative, Product Design, and other teams to ensure consistency and clarity in content outputs.
- Manage a hybrid content model with freelancers, agencies, and external partners while setting clear standards for high-quality, on-brand deliverables.
- Help define and evolve the content function to support scalable growth and potentially build an internal content team in the future.
Required Qualifications
- 8–10+ years of experience in consumer or B2C marketing, content marketing, brand, or related roles, with exposure to product- or platform-driven businesses.
- At least 3 years of experience leading teams and managing external resources, including freelancers and agencies.
- Proven track record in building or evolving a content function within a growing organization.
- Strong editorial judgment and storytelling ability, with experience translating complex ideas into compelling narratives.
- Demonstrated comfort operating as a player–coach by balancing strategic leadership with hands-on execution.
- Experience collaborating with creative, growth, and marketing operations teams to bring content strategies to life.
- Ability to guide content across various formats, including digital, print, and video storytelling.
- Demonstrated experience leveraging AI and data insights to enhance content strategy and production workflows.
- Working knowledge of performance marketing, SEO, and content distribution techniques.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and adaptability in ambiguous, evolving environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with SMB or entrepreneurial audiences.
- Proven ability to balance brand-building, narrative-driven content with performance-oriented, conversion-focused initiatives.
- Experience in creating content playbooks, customer storytelling frameworks, and scalable narrative systems.
- Expertise in optimizing content for both consumer experience and SEO/LLM indexing.
