Position Overview
The Mortgage Loan Processor Assistant (LPA) partners with Loan Processors (LPs) to facilitate a smooth transaction experience for our brokers and borrowers. This entry-level role is an exciting opportunity to initiate a career in the mortgage industry. Attention to detail, passion for process, and an obsession with excellent customer service are critical. The LPA is responsible for prioritizing and executing tasks with support from an experienced loan processing mentor and advanced technology solutions. Given the exposure to sensitive personal borrower information, high levels of integrity and discretion arenon-negotiable.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Loan Processors with tasks related to ordering and receiving services such as title, appraisals, homeowner’s insurance, and verifications of employment.
- Manage statuses and follow-up communications with 3rd party mortgage service providers including appraisers and title companies.
- Collect and organize documentation for post-closing compliance quality control.
- Execute a Closing Checklist to ensure all regulated and reportable information is captured before closing a loan file.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and provide prompt, warm, and memorable service.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1-year experience in a customer-facing service role.
- Must demonstrate high levels of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive personal information.
- Any necessary mortgage licensure will be managed by the company.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding and knowledge of the TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosure Rule (TRID) is a plus.
