Position Overview

Now is the best time to start your career as a Registered Nurse (RN)! Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our healthcare team at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL. This role is ideal for newly graduated nurses or those in their final semester, as you can start as a Nurse Extern II and transition into an RN position once you become license pending. You will be assigned to various departments including Medical, Ortho, Neuro, CVCU, IMC, ICU, CVICU, ED, NICU, Peds, OB, and OR, working full-time nights (36 hrs/wk). Sign On Bonus: $10,000 and Compensation ranges from $34.00 to $51.00 per hour based on your experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited and approved school of nursing accepted for licensure in the state of practice is required.
  • Licensure Requirements:
    • Illinois: License pending designation required with licensure obtained within 90 days of passing the exam.
    • Wisconsin: A Temporary Permit is required with licensure obtained within three months (renewable once for an additional three-month period).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.
  • Previous healthcare or service industry experience is preferred.
