Full Range: $24.05 - $36.55 per hour

Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. The position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

About The Position

In this creative role, you will be responsible for graphic design, videography, video editing, photography, brand management, and general multimedia creation. You will use your creative skills to capture and create visual content, helping to inform constituents and voters of the latest information.

About Us

The Maricopa County Recorder's Office (MCRO) is responsible for recording all documents required by law and making them available for public record. MCRO oversees the voter registration process, documentation, and administration for the County’s approximately 2.5 million voters. It also plays a management role in overseeing early voting, all mail elections, and other election processes and administration. We Require

  • One year of professional constituent relations, public relations, communications, or journalism experience and or administrative experience
  • A combination of post-secondary education and/or communications/public relations experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Public Administration, or a related field
  • Must complete the next scheduled Secretary of State Election Officer Certification
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver’s license by the time of hire
  • Must be eligible to vote in Arizona and pass an applicable background screening

Job Contributions

  • Coordinate, design, and produce visual content, including graphics, videos, flyers, etc.
  • Develop visuals and design layouts for social media, the Recorder’s website, presentations, etc.
  • Take photos and/or videos (including at events and meetings) using a DSLR camera
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot audio, video, and lighting equipment
  • Produce videos and other creative projects from concept to completion
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams to develop content
  • Order equipment, materials, and software, while managing the inventory of these items
  • Plan and coordinate staffing, equipment, and materials for media productions, programs, or events
  • Recommend any needed equipment, software, and production processes

Working Conditions

Work primarily occurs in a business office setting. Ability to move objects lifting floor to waist (up to 25 pounds) and pushing/pulling (up to 50 pounds). The position requires analytical, oral, and written communication. You must demonstrate a high level of integrity, confidentiality, accuracy, ethical behavior, and professionalism.
