Position Overview
The American Medical Association (AMA) is the nation’s largest professional association of physicians and a non-profit organization dedicated to improving public health. We are seeking a Content Manager to join our Marketing & Membership Experience team at our Chicago, IL corporate offices in a hybrid work setting (2 days in-office per week). This role supports member programs by collaborating in the development, implementation, and management of an enterprise curriculum strategy while driving marketing and communications initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning, development, and execution of enterprise curriculum content in collaboration with business unit partners.
- Develop, manage, and launch a product content plan to complement the full learner continuum.
- Identify key features and benefits to increase the value of and drive engagement in member programs, products, and platforms.
- Standardize KPIs and metrics to evaluate content selection and measure program success.
- Drive strategy by understanding audience needs, build relationships, and produce actionable insights.
- Lead the positioning, branding, messaging, channel strategy, and distribution methods for communications and engagement initiatives.
- Implement and analyze customer feedback, research insights, and surveys to enhance content and marketing strategies.
- Develop and lead regular content overviews for training account executives on new messaging and product features.
- Manage the editorial calendar and digital engagement efforts to support member retention and overall business results.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, content marketing, communications or a related field.
- At least 5 years of specialized experience in content or education development and marketing for products or services in the physician marketplace.
- Strong interpersonal, team-building, and project management skills with an ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Proven success in project, budget, and team management with a track record of executing metric-driven operational plans.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate or Master’s degree and/or an advanced degree.
- Experience with website analytics, content management systems, and marketing automation tools.
- Familiarity with member marketing engagement strategies and adult learning best practices.

- Compensation:$85,680 - $113,526 (salary range determined by candidate qualifications, location, and internal equity)
