Job Description

Overview

Junior Process Engineer provides day to day multi-functional support including new and existing product design & development, document revision, general drafting, production process, equipment troubleshooting, creating and updating process documentation, and continuous process and product improvement.

Duties

  • Provides drawing and design support for all customers including detailed drawings using AutoCAD and Draftsight 3D modeling.
  • Reverse engineering of existing products and associated components.
  • Support Document Control Department / Engineering Change request process as required.
  • Interface closely with other functional departments in the development of new products.
  • Continually monitor and improve manufacturing processes including streamlining existing process and improving product flow using Lean manufacturing methods.
  • Investigate non-conforming product issues and customer complaints and provide resolution including associated documentation as required.
  • Validate processes and products using ISO based practices.
  • Assist Maintenance department when necessary to troubleshoot and repair production and production related equipment.
  • Provide project management skills for new equipment purchases and general engineering projects as required.
  • Write, review, and amend documents as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Associate of Science in an associated engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial) or a combination of secondary education and relative experience. College internships will be considered.
  • Basic knowledge of CAD tools including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo or similar software.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as CNC programming, CAM programming, and tooling design.
  • Understanding of process engineering principles within a manufacturing environment.
  • Extended computer skills necessary, including all Microsoft Office products, project management tools and techniques, document controls systems, knowledge of AutoCAD and Solidworks drafting software preferred.
  • Exposure to industrial equipment maintenance, manufacturing techniques, and assembly operations.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and support continuous improvement efforts aligned with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma principles.

Physical Requirements

  • Bending, lifting, sitting, and standing on a daily basis, occasionally for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use precision measuring devices like micrometers, etc.
  • This position will be exposed to an office environment and production environment as required.
