Job Description

Position Overview

Austin Industries is one of the nation’s largest, most diversified U.S.-based construction companies with more than 7,000 employee-owners. Through its operating companies, including Austin Bridge & Road, the firm delivers a wide range of civil, commercial, and industrial construction services. Austin Bridge & Road is seeking Entry Level / New Grad Engineers for various projects. In this role, you will perform a variety of entry-level engineering and administrative duties across departments such as Operations, Estimating, Survey, Scheduling, and Engineering.
Location: Dallas/Fort Worth, San Antonio, and Austin, Texas.
Experience Required: Entry Level / New Grad.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Controls: Assist the General Controls Manager with coordinating training and compliance activities, develop and present training materials, update policies and procedures, perform compliance functions, and support project teams with policy adherence.
  • Schedule: Assist in creating and updating project and bid schedules, including Earned Value Metric updates.
  • Surveying: Conduct plan reading, perform survey calculations, and establish horizontal and vertical control.
  • Engineering: Support field operations through tasks such as earthwork calculations, shop drawing review, designing formwork/false work systems, jobsite planning, layout, CAD drafting, and engineering calculations.
  • Estimating: Complete quantity surveys, evaluate subcontractor and vendor bids, price estimate components, solicit proposals, and perform site reviews.
  • Technical: Read and interpret owner’s drawings and specifications; demonstrate collegiate-level computer, mathematics, communication, and technical writing skills with a basic understanding of heavy civil highway construction principles.
  • Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • New/recent college graduate (May 2025 – December 2025).
  • Able to prioritize tasks and projects effectively with excellent time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented, able to multi-task, and meet critical deadlines.
  • Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (or equivalent experience), proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and legal authorization to work for any employer in the United States.
