MID-level Java Full Stack Software Developer

Position Overview

The Government Health and Safety Solutions Operation is seeking a MID-level Java Full Stack Software Developer in Bethesda, MD to support federal health enterprise systems. This role, which is 100% telework for candidates located in the US, requires a proactive individual who will design, develop, and maintain enterprise systems while collaborating with diverse teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Research, design, develop and maintain enterprise systems using JEE, Spring MVC, Spring JDBC, Bootstrap, jQuery, REST, SQL, PL/SQL, SonarQube, Git, and JIRA in an Agile environment.
• Create and update documentation and specifications for design, development, and testing.
• Collaborate with customers, analysts, architects, DBAs, operations, and testers using Agile Scrum.
• Troubleshoot and fix issues in production environments.
• Develop maintainable, adaptable, scalable, and secure code by following software development best practices including continuous integration and test automation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or IT-related discipline or equivalent experience (minimum 5 years, with 4 additional years substitutable for the degree).
• Experience with Java 8+, Spring MVC, JDBC, Eclipse, REST services, and Git.
• Proficiency with front-end technologies such as Bootstrap, jQuery, Ajax, React, Angular, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Strong experience with SQL and working with RDMS (Oracle, PL/SQL).
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, object-oriented design, automated unit tests (e.g., JUnit, mocks), and test-driven development.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or a US Person eligible to obtain a Public Trust Clearance and have been located in the United States for the current three consecutive years within the last five.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Splunk and calling Splunk APIs.
• Familiarity with Gradle and continuous integration principles.
