Position Overview
Conduent delivers mission-critical services and solutions for Fortune 100 companies and over 500 governments. In the role of Medical Review Auditor Analyst (Remote - Charlotte Area), you will work closely with hospital-clients and internal stakeholders, using industry and proprietary tools to ensure successful audits. You will work remotely with occasional travel and report directly to the Sr. Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit medical bills for unrelated charges, overpayments/reimbursements, and overall accuracy.
- Assess payments against regulatory or administrative charges, coding, and billing errors.
- Conduct medical audits to identify healthcare overpayments and underpayments to providers.
- Utilize provider billing and patient accounting systems to research potential overpayments.
- Develop and ensure adherence to client policies, regulations, and guidelines.
- Perform other tasks as directed by management.
Required Qualifications
- Must have hospital business office experience.
- Strong mathematical skills to perform accurate audits.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and industry-specific software.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work independently.
- Comfortable working remotely with occasional on-site visits.
- Strong communication skills (interpersonal, written, and verbal).
- Dependable, willing to travel, and must possess a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Management, or related fields is highly desired (or 10 years of hospital billing experience may substitute for a degree).
- Experience in an auditing role, healthcare industry, or insurance is highly desired.
- Experience in industries such as Accounting, Finance, or Healthcare Administration is a plus.
