Job Description

Position Overview

Citi's Clean Energy Finance (CEF) team is seeking a candidate to join the origination desk to support its tax equity and tax credit transfer mandates. The role is responsible for supporting and facilitating the execution of tax equity investments and tax credit transfer transactions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maximizing client benefit. CEF leverages extensive expertise across a range of renewable energy and sustainable technologies including Wind, Solar, Energy Efficiency, and other emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed financial modeling to evaluate the cash flow profiles of tax equity investments, including analysis of tax benefits, projected returns, and risk assessments.
  • Create and manage databases to organize and maintain data related to tax equity and tax credit transfer transactions, preparing reports and presentations for internal management.
  • Prepare pitch decks, marketing materials, and financial memoranda for internal and external stakeholders to secure client mandates and attract investors.
  • Collaborate with team members to structure and negotiate tax equity and tax credit transactions, ensuring alignment with client objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with the portfolio management team to monitor project performance, tax credit generation, and portfolio returns while exploring opportunities to repower and optimize existing tax equity projects.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions affecting tax equity and tax credits.
  • Partner closely with execution teams, financial controllers, the tax department, Citi Risk Management, and legal teams to ensure compliance with internal policies during and after transaction execution.

Required Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or a closely related area.
  • Consistently clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a rapidly changing environment and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Possession of Series 79, 7, and 63 licenses.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in evaluating financing transactions and structures.
  • Experience creating financial analyses.
  • Familiarity with federal tax incentives for renewables, including PTCs and ITCs.
  • Experience working with renewable energy developers.

  • Salary: $110,000.00 - $125,000.00
