Job Description
Position Overview
The Marketing and Communications Director leads the Hobby Center’s marketing and sales campaigns, audience development initiatives, and strategic communications to drive attendance, ticket revenue, patron loyalty, and brand awareness. This role blends creativity with strong analytics and a data-forward strategy, delivering on immediate revenue and attendance goals while fostering long-term loyalty and brand equity. Working closely across the organization, the Director shapes stellar customer experiences and supports special events, projects, and strategic plan tactics.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead audience growth and loyalty initiatives across multiple channels (direct mail, email, digital advertising, social media, SMS, etc.).
- Develop and execute comprehensive annual marketing and revenue strategies, including demand and pricing strategy.
- Act as primary steward of the Hobby Center brand, guiding messaging, storytelling, and creative content development.
- Manage and inspire the marketing team while collaborating with cross-functional departments and Advancement colleagues.
- Leverage data, analytics, and evolving technology (including AI and automation) to personalize customer experiences and optimize ROI.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive marketing/communications leadership, preferably in performing arts or entertainment.
- Proven experience in segmentation strategy, loyalty development, and data-driven marketing.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills with strong leadership and team development abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, prioritize multiple deadlines, and handle confidential information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Substantial experience managing segmentation, subscription/membership models, and loyalty marketing in the performing arts.
- Track record of driving audience growth, ticket sales, and enhancing brand visibility.
- Expertise in omnichannel marketing strategies, demand-based pricing, and inventory management.
