Lead Test Technician

Position Overview

Lead Test Technician – based in Detroit – at LINK Engineering Company, a premier designer and manufacturer of precision test equipment in industries including Automotive, Aviation, Off-Highway, Rail and Civil Engineering. In this role you will lead a team of test technicians to support engineers with evaluating product design changes, ensuring equipment performance, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support testing assignments, methods, and procedures on new projects.
• Maintain machine runtime and efficiency targets while analyzing measurements and verifying test specifications to produce detailed engineering reports.
• Operate and configure LabLINK, RevData Plus, control programs, and related testing systems including servo controllers and the M-3500 setup.
• Facilitate clear communication of daily activities between shifts and share problem-solving processes within the team.
• Ensure safe operation of testing equipment and adherence to LINK’s core values: Can-Do Attitude, Courage, Commitment, Humility and Accountability.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma (Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology or a related field is preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in an automotive engineering laboratory or a related field.
• Proven experience with testing equipment, digital electronics, and interpreting electrical schematics.
• Strong technical aptitude, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team.
