Job Description
Position Overview
The Executive Director of Marketing and Brand plays an integral role in developing and executing marketing strategies and campaigns that grow and strengthen NJIT’s brand, support undergraduate recruitment, and enhance engagement with alumni and supporters. In this role, you will manage the university’s marketing budget and a team of professionals, oversee vendor relations, and chair the NJIT Brand Council. You will report to the Assistant Vice President of Marketing within the Communications & Marketing department. Position Type: Staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic, integrated multi-channel advertising and marketing campaigns to achieve organizational objectives.
- Create and implement marketing strategies and materials to enhance institutional brand awareness, support student recruitment, foster donor relations, and promote fundraising and campus activities.
- Manage NJIT’s marketing budget and lead a team of marketing professionals.
- Monitor and assess marketing strategies, tactics, technologies, best practices, and competitive trends to ensure maximum impact.
- Lead the NJIT Brand Council, facilitating collaboration and ensuring alignment with NJIT’s brand guidelines.
- Compile and analyze performance data to develop metrics that guide resource allocation and strategy selection.
- Set priorities, manage staff, and control expenditures to drive organizational success.
- Manage vendor relationships from onboarding through contract fulfillment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field.
- Minimum of seven years of related experience, including at least three years in a supervisory capacity.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team in a high-pressure environment.
- Evidence of data-informed decision-making.
- Advanced organizational, planning, and management skills for creative processes and multi-channel marketing campaigns.
- Deep and current understanding of diverse marketing outlets, channels, tools, and technologies.
- Experience conceiving and leading multi-channel marketing campaigns that achieved measurable success.
- Proven budget planning and management experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated customer-oriented and service-centered approach.
- At the university’s discretion, education and experience prerequisites may be waived for candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Familiarity with higher education marketing.

- Salary: $81,359.00 - $135,303.00 USD (base pay only; additional incentives or bonuses are not included).
