Senior, Accounting and Financial Reporting

Position Overview

The Senior will apply an agile, innovative, and entrepreneurial mindset to collaborate with finance and accounting teams delivering day-to-day accounting and controllership support across enterprise solutions. The Senior will ensure that timely, accurate, and insightful financial information is provided to the appropriate business stakeholders. To accomplish this, the Senior may also collaborate with Deloitte's Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team, Global Finance Services (GFS), and other teams within and beyond the Accounting & Compliance (A&C) function.

Salary: $72,900 to $134,300

Key Responsibilities

• Drive period, quarter, and year-end accounting processes, ensuring compliance with appropriate policy and accuracy of financial information within established deadlines.
• Review and approve journal entries.
• Analyze, interpret, and understand financial data to ensure reported amounts are accurate and aligned with expectations.
• Support the review of business transactions to ensure compliance with US GAAP and firm policies.
• Support capitalization accounting and compliance with US GAAP and firm policy; lead the quarterly review for intangible asset impairments.
• Collaborate effectively with teams across Finance & Administration to review accounting transactions.
• Demonstrate responsiveness by proactively assisting the team with critical deliverables for the Lead Controller or US Firms' Controller.
• Support the implementation and execution of key controls and processes as applicable.
• Perform various analyses, ad-hoc reporting, and special reporting requests.
• Participate in broader Controllership transformation initiatives and other ad hoc projects.
• Execute process improvement opportunities to improve efficiency, increase digitization, and enhance the value delivered by Controllership.
• Identify opportunities to transform processes utilizing technology enablers.
• Partner with peers within and across other A&C teams to share ideas and collaborate on ways to improve Controllership processes.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• 4+ years of relevant Finance or Accounting experience.
• Understanding of US GAAP and methodologies for technical research.
• Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
• Ability to travel 0-10%, on average, based on the work performed and client/industry requirements.
• Ability to understand and support application of operational and technical accounting.
• Ability to adapt and respond to change and uncertainty while operating in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
• A process-improvement mindset with the ability to challenge the status quo and identify improvements.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills (both oral and written).
• Ability to operate effectively within Deloitte's culture of engagement and belonging, within virtual teams and across geographic and cultural boundaries.
• Enthusiastic, self-starter who is highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
• Possess analytical skills with the ability to solve problems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional services firm experience.
• CPA and/or MBA.
• Data analysis skillsets and experience with the use of advanced technologies.
• Experience in data analysis, management, and visualization.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
• Proficiency in Tableau or PowerBI.
• Understanding and proficiency in SAP and other financial applications.
• Advanced understanding of data science and visualization tools (Python, SQL).
• Familiarity with machine learning algorithms.
• Knowledge of artificial intelligence software.
