Job Description

Position Overview

OHO INTERIORS is seeking a creative, ambitious, and collaborative Senior Interior Designer with extensive residential construction design and project management experience to join our growing team. This full‑time role requires the ability to travel and demands a self‑starter who is highly organized, attentive to detail, and adept at creative problem‑solving in a boutique studio environment. Salary: Pay Dependent on Experience. Location: Warehouse District of Minneapolis with occasional travel opportunities. Schedule: Full‑time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft technical drawings including floor plans, elevations, and custom furniture plans.
  • Source materials and selections for new construction, renovation, and furnishing projects.
  • Prepare client presentations and develop comprehensive construction documentation.
  • Coordinate directly with build team partners, consultants, and vendors to ensure design execution on site.
  • Lead the creative and conceptual stages of projects alongside the Principal Designer, including custom furniture design.
  • Oversee and verify the accuracy of technical documentation and project specifications.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to setting internal design standards and guidelines.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently while ensuring timely communication and updates to leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Google Sheets, and current technologies (Dropbox, Slack, Canva, Keynote, etc.).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a design firm setting with dedicated expertise in leading and project managing large-scale, highly custom residential construction projects.
  • Demonstrated experience handling all aspects of full‑service design projects from conception to completion.
  • Strong project leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide junior designers.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a mindset of creative problem‑solving.
  • Financial understanding of project costs and budget management.
  • Excellent professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive nature, with strong instincts and openness to constructive feedback.
  • Willingness to travel nationwide as well as work on projects in Minnesota and surrounding areas.
