Position Overview

NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn is a full-service teaching hospital and Level I trauma center located in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Cardiac Cath Lab Technician – Full Time in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. In this role, you will assist the primary operating physician during cardiac catheterization and selected diagnostic procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform various duties as assigned and act as a liaison between clinical staff and families.
  • Provide assessment, treatment, and patient care for individuals undergoing procedures in the Cardiac Cath Lab, including patient and family education.
  • Assist with procedures such as Cardiac Catheterization, Ablation, and peripheral vascular interventions.
  • Participate in the development and orientation of protocols and procedures for the laboratory.
  • Keep current on best practice standards, latest technology, and research in cardiology and endovascular fields.
  • Evaluate new equipment and make recommendations regarding consolidation and cost-effectiveness.
  • Verify hemodynamic data and ensure accurate documentation in patient records.
  • Prepare and set up equipment for Cath Lab procedures while adhering to OSHA, regulatory, and hospital safety standards.
  • Review patient histories and imaging data prior to procedures.
  • Assist the primary physician during procedures in the Cardiac Cath Lab.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Cardiovascular Technology or a high school diploma with a minimum of two years of relevant, recent acute invasive cardiology/cardiovascular technologist experience, or AART Radiology Technology registration.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Physical stamina and manual dexterity along with the visual and aural acuity required to perform the duties.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Membership in pertinent professional organizations.
  • Certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES).
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization.

  • Compensation: The salary range for this role is $90,330.55 - $1112,537 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The listed range does not include bonuses or other forms of compensation.
