AI/ML Intern

Position Overview

This AI/ML Intern role is designed as Hybrid with an expectation to work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office. In this position, you will contribute to building and deploying innovative cloud-based, machine learning solutions aimed at resolving complex customer challenges. Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement cloud solutions tailored to business needs.
• Work with domain experts to formalize machine learning problems related to wireless and wired network diagnostics, root cause analysis, and optimization.
• Design, implement, and validate machine learning algorithms on big data.
• Guide and oversee deployment of implemented machine learning solutions and monitor their operation.
• Utilize Agentic AI to solve networking challenges.
• Identify, debug, and resolve issues with code and integration into application architecture.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans ensuring performance, scalability, usability, and security.
• Deploy cloud-based systems using continuous integration/deployment pipelines.
• Contribute to innovative projects by integrating new technologies into existing solutions.
• Analyze complex scientific, engineering, and business data to develop effective solutions for application and network issues.

Required Qualifications

• Working towards a Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field (Master’s degree candidates strongly preferred).
• Familiarity with designing robust software systems.
• Proficient in Python (including PySpark and Scikit-learn) with a strong grasp of software engineering best practices.
• Basic understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
• Solid background in statistical and machine learning techniques, such as anomaly detection, clustering, time series analysis, event stream mining, hypothesis testing, causal inference, and deep learning.
• Excellent communication skills with an aptitude for data visualization.
• Relevant industry experience in data science and machine learning.
• Exposure to online learning algorithms, reinforcement learning, semi-supervised learning, or mixed time-series/event streams.
• Familiarity with GenAI and large language models (LLMs); experience with Agentic AI is a plus.
