Position Overview

NextGen Federal Systems is offering an exciting year-round internship for students in Maine with a passion for weather, AI/ML, climate science, or cloud computing. In this remote role (approximately 10 hours per week), you will work alongside industry experts to develop software solutions that support weather intelligence, defense systems, and geospatial technology challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop software for weather and climate data processing
  • Work with AI/ML models to analyze atmospheric patterns
  • Assist in cloud computing and geospatial data integration
  • Support defense-related weather intelligence projects
  • Collaborate with experienced engineers on cutting-edge solutions

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Major in computer science, engineering, meteorology, atmospheric science, AI/ML, or related fields
  • Proficiency in programming languages (Python, JavaScript, etc.)
  • Interest in weather technology, AI, or cloud computing
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
