Position Overview

The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) is seeking a highly skilled Network Architect for the Technology Services Division. In this permanent, full‐time position, you will lead all aspects of CDTFA's enterprise network—from designing and implementing public cloud networking solutions (Azure and AWS) to managing switching, routing, and firewall systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with the added benefit of a compensation of $9,507.00 - $12,740.00 (with new to State candidates starting at the minimum salary), multiple vacancies, and a hybrid telework model in Sacramento County.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and design CDTFA's enterprise network infrastructure.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to network and IT teams.
• Oversee implementation of public cloud networking with Azure and AWS.
• Manage routing, switching, and firewall configurations while ensuring network performance and security.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, delegate responsibilities, and monitor network performance.

Required Qualifications

• Expertise in networking technologies including public cloud networking, switching, routing, and firewalls.
• Proven leadership skills with experience mentoring and guiding technical teams.
• Experience with enterprise network design and implementation.
• Ability to travel up to 10% and maintain consistent, predictable attendance.
