Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of electrical power systems for renewable energy projects (e.g., solar farms, energy storage systems).
- Perform detailed power system analysis, including load flow, short circuit, stability, and protection coordination studies using industry-standard software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E, PSCAD).
- Develop single-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications.
- Select appropriate electrical equipment, such as transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and generators.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE, NESC), and client requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including civil engineers, project managers, and procurement specialists.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior electrical engineers.
- Oversee the installation, commissioning, and testing of electrical systems to ensure proper functionality and safety.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues that arise during project execution.
- Stay current with advancements in power system technologies, grid modernization, and renewable energy integration.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree: in Electrical Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license: is highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a strong focus on power systems design and analysis.
- Proficiency: in power system simulation software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E).
- In-depth knowledge: of electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Experience: with renewable energy integration, grid interconnection, and energy storage systems is a significant advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively on-site and collaborate with a diverse engineering team.
