Position Overview

As a Senior Structural Engineer within the Advanced Manufacturing team, you will work on diverse projects related to Data Centers – from new builds to retrofits and colocations. You will contribute your expertise to design, analysis, and coordination efforts on capital projects across the United States, all while growing technically and professionally in a collaborative, hybrid work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform various structural analyses and prepare computer models for Data Center projects.
- Calculate member designs, foundation requirements, and conduct material take-offs for estimating.
- Assist with preparation of miscellaneous calculations and project schedules.
- Collaborate with teams across domestic and international Jacobs offices and with other design departments for coordinated project delivery.
- Support innovation and technical leadership within capital projects and design efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- 8+ years of professional experience in structural engineering.
- Registered Professional Engineer with the ability to register in additional states.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCad, Revit, MicroStation, S3D) and structural analysis tools (RISA or STAAD).
- Solid knowledge of ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, AIST Technical Report 13, and relevant Building Codes.
- Experience with the MS Office suite including MS Teams, with the ability to travel 10–20%.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Science in Engineering.
- Experience with industrial metals projects including casting, rolling operations, or similar heavy industrial ventures.
- Proven ability to lead teams and deliver projects on schedule and on budget while maintaining quality.
