Position Overview
The Regional SEO Team Lead is a senior operational leadership role responsible for the delivery, growth, and operational excellence of all SEO services (Technical, On-Page and AIO/GEO/LLM) within their assigned region (Americas & LATAM OR EMEA & APAC). This role oversees a regional SEO team to ensure high-quality delivery within global SEO frameworks, drive innovation and operational efficiency, and maintain strong commercial health across client engagements. Reporting into the Global Director of Digital Strategy, the role bridges strategic direction with regional execution – aligning global best practices with regional needs. Critically, the Regional SEO Team Lead holds shared responsibility for growing existing client accounts, supporting retention, and achieving defined margin targets, thereby contributing directly to the agency’s profitability and success.
Key Responsibilities
- Regional SEO Leadership
- Lead all SEO delivery across Technical SEO, On-Page SEO, and AIO/GEO in the assigned region.
- Ensure all SEO deliverables adhere to global frameworks, SOPs, and quality standards defined by the Global SEO Team and Global Director of Digital Strategy.
- Collaborate with global/regional counterparts to create and maintain global SOPs for efficiency, consistency, and process alignment.
- Oversee regional SEO resourcing (in‐house and external), capacity planning, and project prioritization.
- Financial & Commercial Accountability
- Ensure projects and deliverables are executed in line with defined metrics and remain within budget.
- Monitor time tracking for accuracy in project markup, and provide insights to replicate successes and mitigate inefficiencies.
- Drive SEO account growth by identifying upsell opportunities and supporting pre-sales with scoping, quoting, and proposal support.
- Maximize the use of internal resources while effectively managing vendor outsourcing under approved guidelines for timely SLAs, project completion, and revenue recognition.
- Operational Management & Team Development
- Manage and mentor SEO specialists (Technical & On-Page, AIO/GEO) to foster a collaborative and high-performing culture.
- Establish a clear training agenda and SMART objectives for each team member’s development.
- Ensure alignment among Technical SEO, On-Page SEO, AIO/GEO, Content, UX/CRO, and Paid Media teams in delivering integrated SEO strategies.
- Contribute to evolving regional outsourcing processes, vendor management, and quality control practices.
- Client Engagement & Collaboration
- Participate in key client calls, including strategy reviews, technical updates, and performance reporting as needed.
- Support quarterly business reviews (QBRs) and strategic sessions with Client Services to ensure SEO delivers measurable client success and growth.
- Collaborate with the Global Director of Digital Strategy and other Regional SEO Team Leads to share insights, drive consistency, and refine service offerings.
- Team Integration, Collaboration & Innovation
- Facilitate seamless integration of teams across Technical SEO, On-Page SEO, and supporting functions.
- Drive alignment on processes, SOPs, and delivery standards in line with global frameworks.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation.
- Champion AI and GenAI innovation by encouraging the adoption of new tools, automation, and AI-driven processes to enhance delivery, scalability, and performance outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Strong demonstrable experience (8+ years) in SEO covering both Technical and On-Page SEO at a senior level.
- Proven leadership skills in managing regional or multi-disciplinary SEO teams.
- Commercial acumen with experience in driving client growth, profitability, and operational efficiency.
- Excellent knowledge of SEO tools, analytics platforms, and automation solutions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with both internal teams and external clients.
- Understanding of UX/CRO integration within SEO strategies.
- Familiarity with AI-powered tools and automation for SEO delivery.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing international or multi-language SEO campaigns.
- Exposure to pricing strategies, service packaging, or productized SEO solutions.
