Position Overview

ConnectDER (www.ConnectDER.com) is a next-generation US-based resource technology company revolutionizing the solar energy, EV charging, and home battery storage markets with its innovative ConnectDER Meter Socket Adapter. With a rapidly growing team of over 60 professionals in Philadelphia, PA, ConnectDER is forging a path in the renewable energy industry. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will bridge the gap between engineering and production, specializing in advanced electrical and electronic manufacturing processes to help bring groundbreaking products to market.

Key Responsibilities

  • On-site position: Work 5 days/week in the Philadelphia, PA office.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to transition new electrical and electronic designs to production suppliers.
  • Work with contract manufacturers to improve quality, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency in PCB assembly, wiring, production testing, and instructions.
  • Build and test prototype units and test fixtures, evaluating designs for manufacturability of electrical components and systems.
  • Coordinate in-house sample and pilot builds to ensure compliance with electrical safety and performance standards.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to boost production throughput in PCB manufacturing and electrical assembly.
  • Partner with suppliers to align manufacturing processes with electrical design specifications and quality requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance on electrical troubleshooting, component selection, and process optimization.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, SOPs, test flows, and software/test case definitions.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and innovation in electrical manufacturing.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and advances in electrical manufacturing technology.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing engineering experience focused on electrical or electronic systems.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical manufacturing processes, materials, and quality control methods.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and external suppliers, with familiarity in PCB manufacturing and electronic assembly.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for supplier visits and production support.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and effective communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a production environment, particularly with electronics or electrical component manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, machinery, and assembly techniques for electrical systems.
  • Experience in the utility, solar energy, or alternative energy sectors.
