Our client is a renowned leader in advanced manufacturing, seeking a highly experienced Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer for their facility in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, US. This role is integral to enhancing production efficiency, improving product quality, and driving innovation in manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of production methodologies, automation, and continuous improvement techniques. You will be responsible for analyzing existing manufacturing operations, identifying areas for optimization, and implementing cutting-edge solutions to streamline workflows and reduce operational costs. This hands-on role requires significant on-site engagement with production teams and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement in terms of quality, cost, and throughput.
  • Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes and technologies to enhance production capabilities.
  • Optimize existing production lines using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Collaborate with R&D, design, and quality assurance teams to ensure successful product launches and process validation.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Oversee the installation, commissioning, and validation of new manufacturing equipment and automation systems.
  • Conduct process capability studies and implement Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Train production personnel on new processes, equipment, and quality standards.
  • Manage process improvement projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Evaluate and recommend new manufacturing technologies and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for manufacturing processes and report on performance metrics.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in manufacturing process engineering within a production environment.
  • Expertise: Proven expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Black Belt or Green Belt preferred), and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment, automation, and process control systems.
  • Skills: Experience with CAD software and process simulation tools is beneficial. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Communication: Effective communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
  • Experience: Hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity: Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
  • Floor Interaction: Ability to work effectively on the production floor and interact with operators and technicians.
