Position Overview

As the Staff IT Analyst II - Quality Assurance Specialist Digital Banking at Western Alliance Bank located in Block 23, you will oversee testing for system builds and releases, collaborate with delivery teams and business partners, and ensure software quality through strategic analysis and effective communication. You will review current testing processes, identify constraints, develop solutions, and prepare essential documentation that supports high-quality deliverables and enhanced business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a list of critical documentation and artifacts to meet project objectives and communicate relevant learnings and findings with subject matter experts.
  • Leverage Risk Management experience from a large financial institution with heightened standards in risk, compliance, or corporate governance.
  • Capture and maintain KRIs, KPIs, and Operational Metrics as required.
  • Identify software application weaknesses and target areas for improvement.
  • Review software bug reports to highlight problem areas and propose solutions.
  • Develop automation scripts, implement software solutions, and resolve automation issues.
  • Implement QA best practices to foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
  • Design, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans—including unit, integration, and performance testing using both manual and automated strategies.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Validate that software meets business and technical requirements through detailed testing processes.
  • Collaborate with the design team to resolve application faults.
  • Work with business and development teams to understand and translate business requirements.
  • Lead test case design sessions and create detailed test scenarios.
  • Utilize collaboration tools like Azure DevOps (ADO) and Confluence for documentation and test case management.
  • Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) ensuring compliance with QA governance standards and industry regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Detailed knowledge of application functions, bug fixing, and testing protocols.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Office, Azure DevOps, diagramming tools (e.g., Lucid, Visio), and technical aptitude in Quality Assurance.
  • Proficiency with automated testing tools and services such as Playwright and Selenium.
  • Entry-level to intermediate understanding of financial services, banking, and applicable regulatory and legal compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of data integrity standards, problem recognition, and prioritization skills.
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge in designing and executing test cases that support accessibility testing based on WCAG principles.
  • Intermediate verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel occasionally.
