Job Description

Position Overview

Position: Senior Network Engineer (Data Center).
Title: Senior Engineer in Core Infrastructure Network Connectivity and Automation.
Location: Minneapolis, MN.

In this role, you will deploy and maintain high‑performance, scalable network solutions within our data centers. You will work on designing and implementing automation for configuration management, provisioning, and monitoring while collaborating with cross‑functional teams. Join a team that supports, builds, and innovates network connectivity and automation capabilities using technologies like Cisco & Fortinet routers, SDWAN, campus switches, remote site and cloud infrastructure, and advanced network security solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy and maintain high‑performance, scalable network solutions for data centers, including core switches, edge routers, load balancers, and related equipment.
  • Implement network automation solutions to streamline configuration management, provisioning, and monitoring.
  • Leverage automation tools and scripting (Python, Ansible) to simplify network management and increase operational efficiency.
  • Assist in capacity planning, evaluate network performance, and identify areas for improvement to scale the data‑center network.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies such as SDN and network automation, evaluating their application to enhance operations.
  • Lead and triage complex issues across systems in the data center and conduct root‑cause analysis.
  • Participate in strategic planning and collaborate with staff and principal engineers.
  • Configure, install, and support large enterprise platforms/products from start to finish.
  • Advocate for industry standards, drive quality output across teams, and identify opportunities to improve the SDLC and overall reliability.
  • Influence the architecture of multiple systems/processes while maintaining knowledge of evolving standards and vendor technologies.
  • Resolve highly complex issues using innovative approaches and provide input on product improvements.
  • Own technical testing, performance validation, and handle advanced debugging, triaging, incident response, and reverse‑engineering.

Required Qualifications

  • 5 years of relevant experience OR a bachelor’s/advanced degree in IT, Computer Science, Business, or a related field OR appropriate industry certification(s) OR equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7–8+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Industry certifications such as Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, Palo Alto, F5, AWS.
  • Experience in a large global enterprise (1000+ sites).
  • Expertise in Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or AWS and hybrid‑cloud solutions.
  • Experience driving automation efforts.
  • Development and architecture experience for network connectivity and security solutions.
