Job Description

Position Overview

Cardinal Financial is a nationwide direct mortgage lender that focuses on creating solutions for borrowers, partners, and employees. We value innovation, integrity, and exceptional customer service. In this role, you will educate customers on company values, processes, and operations; obtain and compile information for loan applications; explain available loan options; and ensure outstanding customer service while adhering to federal, local, and internal guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze applicants' financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine the feasibility of granting loans.
  • Obtain and compile copies of loan applicants' credit histories, corporate financial statements, and other financial information.
  • Explain to customers the different types of loans and credit options available, including the terms of those services.
  • Review loan agreements to ensure they are complete and accurate according to company policies, guidelines, compliance, and lending regulations.
  • Maintain customer confidence by keeping all loan information confidential.
  • Maintain licenses and compliance by participating in required continuing education courses.
  • Collaborate with sales, processing, underwriting, closing, post-closing, and management to ensure the customer receives excellent service.
  • Originated your own sales by contacting prospective clients and developing and monitoring referral sources.
  • Meet clients outside of the employer's place of business to initiate sales.
  • Spend significant time away from the employer's location meeting prospective customers at various sites, including clients' homes and other referral sources.
  • Meet specific goals and requirements by division: Phone/Talk Time, Locked Loans, Funded Loans, Realtor Visits, Applications, and Credit Pulls.
  • Achieve standard pull-through rates and complete accurate loan applications.
  • Meet attendance, punctuality, and other company standards while abiding by all company policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience working as a Loan Originator is required.
  • Must possess, or have the ability to possess upon hire, a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) license per the SAFE Act; may be asked to become licensed in multiple states.
  • Solid foundation of mortgage experience.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to adapt well to change.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple demands and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
