Position Overview
Data Driven Detroit (D3) has partnered with Mondo Unlimited to recruit an experienced Data Analyst. This full-time role offers a compensation of $48,000 - $55,000 per year and is integral to our mission of delivering accessible, high‐quality analysis for informed decision-making in Metro Detroit. The position is primarily remote with an option to work in-person as needed. Detroit residents and candidates who identify as Black, Indigenous, or People of Color are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate regularly with team members on a diverse suite of projects.
- Clean, transform, and analyze datasets to derive actionable insights.
- Create data visualizations, including charts and interactive maps.
- Support D3's outreach and engagement programs.
- Strengthen and streamline internal data and analytical infrastructure.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional experience in Data Science, Information Science, Urban Informatics, or the Social Sciences.
- Proficiency in data analysis using Microsoft Excel and experience with structured datasets (e.g., database tables, CSVs).
- Familiarity with SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL) or programming languages like Python.
- Experience using data visualization tools such as Tableau.
- Understanding of geographic and spatial analysis principles.
- Experience working with social science datasets, including the U.S. Census and American Community Survey.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Flexibility to adjust workflows based on evolving project needs and a knack for innovative problem solving.
- Proven ability to manage deadlines and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to diversity and effective collaboration across culturally diverse teams.
- Lived experience or service that enhances perspectives in support of D3’s mission, especially when serving under-represented populations.
