Job Description

Position Overview

The Older Adults Technology Services (OATS) Communications team seeks to bring on a full-time Social Media and Analytics Manager. This role is key to implementing a vision that integrates all marketing initiatives to highlight the value of OATS, Senior Planet, and Aging Connected offerings, while sharing impactful stories of older adult participants and Supporters. Under the direction of the Interim Director of Communications, the successful candidate will develop and execute a strategic framework to enhance the brand, engage target audiences, and expand social media presence across various platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategize, manage, and operate social media for Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, websites, and other platforms.
  • Build a robust network and audience across the nonprofit industry.
  • Develop content and a strategic posting schedule for all social media channels.
  • Provide social and digital support to promote and manage events across all Senior Planet geographies and advocacy campaigns.
  • Optimize social media platforms, including paid social, with a focus on innovation and evolving trends.
  • Engage with Supporters and stakeholders through effective feedback loops.
  • Achieve, measure, and report strong engagement metrics and outcomes across channels.
  • Ensure equitable storytelling and asset-based framing in commitment to racial, social, and environmental equity.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in communications and/or social media.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, self-directed, and data-driven environment.
  • Strong written communication skills with a focus on social and digital media.
  • Familiarity with Hootsuite and major social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
  • Experience in analytics and reporting social media statistics.
  • Proven success in building, growing, and managing social media channels.
  • Commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and a sharp eye for detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in WordPress, Mailchimp, and the Adobe Suite (including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign).
  • Strong design sensibility and an eye for aesthetics.
  • Familiarity with aging and technology industry conferences, journals, and opportunities.
  • Experience with advocacy campaigns that leverage social media to motivate action.
  • Multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience with the ability to connect with diverse audiences on social media.
  • Multi-lingual skills are highly desirable.
