Job Description

Position Overview

This journey-level accounting role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining accounting systems – including journal entries, general ledger, accounts receivables/payable, and revenue reconciliation. The role requires reviewing financial reporting requirements and interpreting regulations while managing complex audits and compliance risks. The successful candidate will leverage extensive industry expertise and may supervise lower level accountants or clerks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accounting systems including journal entries, general ledger, accounts receivables/payable, and revenue reconciliation.
  • Review and interpret financial reporting requirements, rules, and regulations.
  • Assess audit and compliance risks while resolving diverse issues in practical and imaginative ways.
  • Perform complex data analyses to support accurate financial reporting.
  • Direct and guide lower level accountants or accounting clerks as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree: in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience: in a nonprofit organization and/or healthcare setting.
  • Certifications: CPA and/or CMA certification and public accounting experience.
  • Proficiency: with large accounting systems (e.g., Lawson).
