Position Overview

Join us at the intersection of INGENUITY & INCLUSION. Infrastructure Engineering Inc. (IEI) Detroit office is looking for an experienced Project Engineer - Civil Design (P.E. License required) to join our team! We are a leading engineering firm known for quality, responsiveness, and a proven track record of success as a prime civil engineering firm. In this highly visible role, you will work closely with the Project Manager to develop design concepts that are incorporated into a final product and support client relationships. You will also perform periodic site visits and collaborate with other disciplines to ensure project success. Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret various technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
  • Assist the Project Manager with the preparation of complex design computations, plans, and related construction documents.
  • Utilize MDOT experience including plan development.
  • Handle contract administration with clients and sub-consultants.
  • Review and prepare engineering agreements for projects.
  • Support Project, Design, and/or Office Managers as requested.
  • Ensure that project documents and files are organized.
  • Monitor work-in-process and assist in directing or supervising the work of other engineers.
  • Prepare and present technical information to colleagues and clients.
  • Develop engineering and design documents using computer-assisted design software.
  • Coordinate staff activities to ensure project budget, schedule, and quality goals are met.
  • Visit construction sites to monitor progress and perform other duties as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a Professional Engineer (PE) License (Michigan) required.
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in construction or infrastructure projects, with a minimum of 4 years as a Project Engineer.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and MicroStation.
  • Demonstrated leadership and reliability with a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
