Distribution Area Engineer (Entry, Staff, Senior, or Principal)

This entry level position is designed to develop technical expertise in a specific area of specialty and involves working on conventional plans, investigations, surveys, and projects of limited scope.
Key Responsibilities
- Uses and applies technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to perform assignments of limited scope.
- Supports the development of technical documentation including designs, testing, calculations, and reports, and assists with the creation of procedures.
- Provides ongoing technical support for project activities, and may offer field engineering oversight for commissioning, testing, and inspections under direct supervision.
- Coordinates or leads projects (or portions of projects) covering research, design, equipment selection, installation, and commissioning under the direction of a higher-level engineer or supervisor.
- Assists in bid/evaluation processes by performing basic analysis and calculations on existing documentation to support the preparation of bid documents.
- Communicates effectively across diverse internal teams and with external customers or vendors on matters of varying complexity.
- May supervise or coordinate interns, drafters, technicians, and provide mentoring to less experienced engineers.
- May perform activities such as budgeting, estimating, forecasting, and work order management in support of engineering projects.
Required Qualifications
- Required bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum (electrical engineering preferred).
- 0+ years of relevant engineering experience demonstrating the unique technical skills and core competencies for this level.
- Preferred EIT/FE certification.
