Job Description

Position Overview

Prismecs is seeking a full-time Gas Turbine Engineer based in Houston, TX with strong experience in gas turbine systems and a proven background in engineering team leadership.

This role is critical to strengthening our U.S. engineering operations and supporting our expanding power generation portfolio across EPC, O&M, and long-term service agreements.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on technical expertise combined with the ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and interface directly with clients and senior leadership.

Houston-based candidates only. This role is on-site and does not offer relocation or sponsorship.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership on gas turbine–based power generation projects
  • Support engineering design, troubleshooting, commissioning, and performance optimization
  • Lead and mentor engineering teams across multiple projects
  • Coordinate with project management, commercial, and field teams
  • Review and approve technical documentation, drawings, and calculations
  • Support proposal development and technical bid evaluations
  • Interface with OEMs, vendors, and clients for technical alignment
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. codes, safety standards, and industry best practices
  • Participate in root cause analysis and failure investigations
  • Support site visits, audits, and performance assessments when required

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in gas turbine engineering
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams
  • Strong understanding of power generation systems
  • Experience working with aeroderivative and/or heavy-duty gas turbines
  • Knowledge of balance of plant systems
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills
  • Ability to work full-time in Houston, TX

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting EPC or long-term O&M projects
  • Experience with OEM platforms (GE, Siemens, etc.)
  • PE license (preferred but not required)
  • Experience supporting multi-MW utility-scale or industrial plants
