Position Overview

Join our team at Smith+Nephew as an Associate Sales Representative - Trauma based in Location: Indiana. At Smith+Nephew we design and manufacture technology that pushes the limits of living – a true #LifeUnlimited experience. In this role, you will support the Trauma Sales team through installations, troubleshooting, maintenance, demo inventory setup, and customer in-service, while also assisting with transporting inventory and covering surgical cases as required.

You will study technical information and surgical procedures in the Trauma Orthopaedics product portfolio, specializing in internal and external fixation to restore function quickly and effectively. This role involves working within a structured 24/7 on-call rotation and requires building lasting relationships with surgeons, hospital personnel, and other key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities: Support the Trauma Sales team with installations, troubleshooting, maintenance, demo inventory setup, and customer in-service.
  • Transport customer inventory between accounts and provide coverage for surgical cases when needed.
  • Study and assimilate technical product information and surgical procedures related to Trauma Orthopaedics.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with surgeons and hospital personnel to ensure proper usage and care of product equipment.
  • Participate in the designated 24/7 on-call rotation within the sales territory.
  • Support revenue generation and strive to meet or exceed the territory quota.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience Required: Minimum of two years of sales experience.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude in the Trauma Orthopaedics portfolio and the ability to quickly learn complex product information.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills to effectively support and train surgeons and hospital staff.
  • Must successfully complete the required healthcare facility credentialing process, including any COVID-19 vaccine management protocols.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred experience in the healthcare industry, specifically with orthopedic products or in roles such as EMT/Paramedic, Surgical Technician, Sterile Processing Technician, Operating Room Aide, or athletic trainer.
  • Proven track record in selling and converting business at the surgeon or hospital level.
  • Experience in leading or mentoring team members.
