Position Overview
Lincoln Electric, the world leader in advanced arc welding solutions, automated joining, assembly and cutting systems, and brazing/soldering alloys, is seeking an experienced Machine Builder for on-site support of Fori Automation equipment. In this role, you will coordinate mechanical installations, provide technical support, lead plant personnel during startup, and ensure machine functionality meets customer specifications. Based in Shelby, this Hourly Full-Time opportunity in the Manufacturing function offers a competitive Compensation of $21.39 - $30.56 per hour with a target bonus of 5%.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site support for mechanical installation, de-bug, and final buyoff to customer specifications for Fori Automation equipment.
- Lead and direct plant personnel during machine debug and start-up to ensure complete and correct mechanical functionality.
- Assist the service manager and other departments by addressing product-related technical inquiries from customers.
- Participate in both local and non-local service calls and installations, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Train customer personnel on machine functionality and proper start-up procedures.
- Review installation checklists and issue logs prior to service visits to ensure technician preparedness.
- Collaborate on revising standard manuals to create more comprehensive and user-friendly service documentation.
- Participate in meetings with project managers and department supervisors to align installation plans and resolve open issues before shipment.
- Develop and review improvement ideas with management for approval and implementation.
- Communicate regularly with customers on-site to update them on progress and objectives.
- Write detailed service work orders and job site status reports.
- Supervise mechanical installation, de-bug, and buyoff activities at customer locations.
- Coordinate necessary resources for installations, with emphasis on kits and warranty support.
- Document modifications to Fori equipment on prints and relay updates to the engineering department.
- Work with site management to ensure a smooth flow of daily activities during installations and service calls.
- Provide hands-on support for installations, service calls, and warranty issues.
Required Qualifications
- Machine Builder or equivalent required.
- 8 years of experience as a Machine Builder on automation machines.
- 5 years of experience in de-bugging and installing new machines.
- Willingness to travel to support installations and service calls (on-call 24/7 during installs).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
