Brown and Caldwell (BC) has an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer to join our growing team. This role focuses on low and medium voltage power distribution, controls, and instrumentation design – services in high demand from our clients. Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a project task manager or lead discipline (electrical and instrumentation & control) on projects.
  • Scope and budget projects, determine execution methods, and coordinate staff assignments.
  • Manage and execute electrical design, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget using company systems.
  • Support business development by assisting in proposals, interviews, and fee/scope discussions.
  • Mentor and potentially supervise other electrical and I&C engineers and designers.
  • Review contractor construction submittals, RFIs, and perform design activities for plant and pump station power systems.
  • Produce accurate written documents, reports, and technical memorandums.
  • Collaborate with a national team of technical experts.
  • Occasionally travel to project sites and client meetings both locally and out-of-state.

Required Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional registration.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an Electrical Engineer in government, municipal, and/or industrial water and wastewater sectors.
  • Experience in power systems design and specifications – including service entrance, feeder and branch circuits, lighting, grounding, power distribution, and standby power equipment.
  • Solid knowledge in the application of the National Electrical Code and electrical safety (NFPA 70E).
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently, and meet tight deadlines.

  • Compensation: Location A: $97,000 - $132,000; Location B: $106,000 - $145,000. Salary is based on your primary work location, skills, experience, and education.
