As a dedicated Staff Auditor, you will perform audit assignments on the Finance Audit team covering Financial Regulatory Reports filed with FRB, OCC, and FDIC (e.g., Call Report, FR Y-9C, FFIEC 009, among others). You will execute end-to-end transaction level testing and control evaluations throughout the data cycle, identify issues for resolution, and support risk-based assurance and advisory engagements while adhering to the Institute of Internal Auditors' Standards and Code of Ethics.

This opportunity offers a flexible work environment requiring in-office presence 4 days per week, based in San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, or Charlotte, NC. (Relocation assistance is not available.)

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute audit program assignments in alignment with the annual audit plan, with guidance from the Auditor-in-Charge (AIC).
  • Independently and accurately test business processes, application controls, and IT general controls (ITGC).
  • Identify control deficiencies, discuss findings with audit management, and recommend improvements.
  • Review, analyze, and interpret data from multiple sources to ensure valid conclusions during testing.
  • Participate in team audit activities such as planning, scoping, walkthroughs, and risk assessments.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive audit documentation aligned with key risks, controls, and test objectives.
  • Communicate effectively by sharing findings and audit reports with team members and business leaders.
  • Update the engagement risk & control matrix and other audit records as required by leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). For candidates with a bachelor's degree, a minimum of 2 years’ experience in audit, financial services, insurance, banking, or IT is required; candidates with an advanced degree may have up to 2 years’ experience.
  • Proven experience applying audit, risk, or compliance acumen within a professional environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate control processes with business partners.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a large financial institution or within a Big 4/medium-size Public Accounting firm.
  • Hands-on experience executing end-to-end transaction-level audits and tests of controls.
  • Professional certifications (such as CIA, CPA, CRCM, CISA) are strongly desired.

  • Compensation: The salary range for this position is $69,920 - $133,620. USAA employs a market-based process to set salaries, and actual compensation may vary by location. Performance-based incentives may also be available.
