Job Description

Position Overview

Beech Valley has a startup client in NYC seeking a recently qualified CPA to join the pre-launch and ongoing Accounting & Treasury operations for their new venture. This role, which reports to the CFO, offers a full-time, direct hire (w-2) or contract-to-hire opportunity. Although the company operates virtually, candidates local and within commuting distance of NYC for periodic meetings are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily, month-end, and year-end accounting processes, including control, reconciliation, revenue and expense management, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Design and implement new Accounting & Treasury procedures, controls, and systems enhancements as the business grows.
  • Develop and implement management reporting frameworks to meet the needs of Investors, the Board, and Senior Management.
  • Prepare year-end financial and tax reporting.

Required Qualifications

  • Auditing and/or accounting background with experience supporting sales, trading, or commodities import businesses.
  • Junior level CPA is required.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Power BI; experience with Zoho CRM’s financial module is a plus.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, including experience in designing and implementing accounting flows and management reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills with senior management, a proven team player, and the ability to dive in and get the work done.
  • Proficient in using video conferencing and collaboration tools.
