Our client is looking for a highly experienced and innovative Principal Industrial Engineer to join their remote-based engineering team. This senior-level position is crucial for driving significant improvements in manufacturing processes, operational efficiency, and product quality across the organization. The Principal Industrial Engineer will be responsible for leading complex engineering projects, applying advanced industrial engineering principles and methodologies to optimize workflows, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
This includes designing, developing, and implementing new manufacturing systems, evaluating existing processes, and identifying areas for optimization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and R&D, to ensure seamless integration and successful implementation of engineering solutions. Key responsibilities involve data analysis, simulation modeling, and process mapping to identify root causes of inefficiencies and develop data-driven recommendations.
The ideal candidate possesses expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Black Belt preferred), simulation software, and statistical process control (SPC). Strong project management skills are essential to manage projects from conception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. This is a remote position, requiring excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to lead and mentor junior engineers virtually.
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field is required; a Master's degree is highly preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, with a strong track record of leading significant process improvement initiatives in manufacturing environments, is mandatory. Proven experience with advanced manufacturing technologies and automation is a significant advantage.
