Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers promptly: Approach and acknowledge customers immediately while handling multiple customers efficiently.
• Understand and meet customer needs: Share product knowledge, answer questions, direct customers to merchandise, and offer recommendations with suggestive selling.
• Promote store events and promotions: Inform customers about current store events, promotions, and special activities to enhance their shopping experience.
• Resolve customer concerns: Address issues and offer alternative solutions to turn returns into exchanges when possible.
• Communicate needs to management: Provide regular feedback regarding merchandise restocking, service requirements, and customer feedback.
• Support team and company goals: Collaborate with the team to achieve overall store and company objectives in a positive work environment.
• Operate cash registers frequently and handle monetary transactions accurately.
• Move and restock merchandise (up to 25 lbs and placed at heights between 5-10 feet) and retrieve items using ladders when needed.
• Perform physical tasks such as kneeling, bending, twisting, and stooping on the sales floor and in the stock room.
• Communicate effectively face-to-face and on the telephone with customers, managers, and coworkers, ensuring accurate information exchange.
• Work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and possibly overnight shifts, as needed by the business.
• Follow instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures accurately.
• Remain in a stationary, upright position for at least 80% of the work time.

Required Qualifications

• At least 16 years old
• Available to work a flexible schedule
• Comfortable with or willing to learn technology (e.g., cash registers, hand-held and mobile devices)
• Good communicator with the ability to engage with customers in a courteous and professional manner
• Basic problem-solving and information-gathering skills
• Willingness to learn procedural knowledge through on-the-job training
