a globally recognized leader in manufacturing and operations, is seeking a highly accomplished Principal Industrial Engineer to join their advanced facility in Los Angeles, California, US . This senior role is responsible for driving significant improvements in operational efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness across complex manufacturing and supply chain processes. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of industrial engineering principles, lean manufacturing methodologies, process optimization techniques, and advanced data analysis. You will lead high-impact projects, mentor engineering teams, and champion innovative solutions to optimize our client's production systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage complex industrial engineering projects focused on process improvement, layout optimization, workflow analysis, and capacity planning.
- Develop and implement lean manufacturing initiatives, including value stream mapping, 5S, Kaizen events, and Six Sigma projects.
- Analyze existing production systems and supply chain operations to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for cost reduction.
- Design and optimize facility layouts, material flow, and workstation ergonomics to enhance productivity and safety.
- Utilize advanced analytical tools, simulation software, and statistical methods to model, analyze, and predict process performance.
- Develop and implement performance metrics and dashboards to track key operational indicators.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, quality, product development, and IT, to implement sustainable solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior industrial engineers and other technical staff.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in industrial engineering, automation, and operations management.
- Develop business cases and present project proposals, findings, and recommendations to senior management.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
- Drive continuous improvement culture throughout the organization.
Qualifications
- Master's degree: in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Mechanical Engineering, or a related quantitative field. A PhD is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years: of progressive experience in industrial engineering, with a significant focus on manufacturing, operations, or supply chain optimization.
- Proven track record: of leading and delivering large-scale process improvement initiatives with demonstrable ROI.
- Expertise: in lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies (Black Belt certification highly preferred), and statistical process control (SPC).
- Proficiency: with industrial engineering software, simulation tools (e.g., Arena, AnyLogic), CAD software, and data analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP, advanced Excel).
- Strong analytical: problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent leadership: communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability: to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience: with automation technologies and advanced manufacturing concepts is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability: to influence and collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization.
