Position Overview
Salary: $22 - $29 / Hour
Robison Contracting Incorporated (RCI) is a construction firm focused on building Americas infrastructure – with a special focus on the electric utility sector. We are developing a team of dedicated electrical technicians to commission and perform service and maintenance on Utility Scale Central Solar (PV) Inverters and Energy Storage Systems. Our founders are performance-driven leaders building a team of individuals who buy into our culture, demonstrate competence, and take ownership of their work and community. This position is 100% travel and includes paid training for technicians with an electrical background. Candidates should be prepared to work at multi-employer sites and handle extended hours, with the potential to exceed 65 hours in a given work week.
Key Responsibilities
- Commission and perform service and maintenance on Utility Scale Central Solar (PV) Inverters and Energy Storage Systems.
- Travel to various project locations and represent RCI with the highest level of integrity and professionalism.
- Work extended hours with the potential to exceed 65 hours per week as project demands require.
- Perform physical tasks including working on ladders, carrying a minimum of 65lbs, and obtaining necessary licenses (e.g., forklift/manlift operators license).
- Troubleshoot electrical equipment, install data cables, and perform software uploads as needed.
- Adapt to varying work environments including indoor/outdoor settings, high noise levels, and exposure to extreme temperatures and vibrations.
Required Qualifications
- Electrical background with hands-on experience in troubleshooting electrical equipment, crimping data cables, and performing computer-based tasks.
- Willingness and capability to travel extensively for project assignments at multi-employer sites.
- Adherence to proper PPE usage and safety protocols when working around electrical equipment.
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including working on ladders and lifting at least 65lbs.
- Readiness to obtain additional licenses or certifications as required for the role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic background in electrical equipment and distribution systems (120V to 480V) with proper training and PPE usage.
- Prefer a minimum of five (5) years of experience working with electrical systems.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical systems using tools such as multimeters and data cable testers.
- Effective communication skills for working with customers, management, coworkers, clients, and vendors.
- Proficiency in MS Office programs or G-Suite.
- Certifications such as OSHA 10 (or higher), TWIC, and PowerSafe Training for Electrical Utilities are a plus.
- Strong interpersonal, mentoring, and multi-tasking skills.
