Position Overview
Meta's data centers are the foundation upon which our products serve our users. Building and operating our mission critical infrastructure from break ground to go live is synonymous with ensuring capacity availability and capital conservatism. Architecting, constructing, operating, and innovating the telecommunications and structured cabling infrastructure within our data centers is fundamental to ensuring high availability and supporting extreme growth demands to deliver the most robust and cost-effective online service globally. The Supply Chain Lead will spearhead our strategy and management framework as we continue to partner with our supply chain of Designers, Engineers, General Contractors, Telecom Partners, and Integrators.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Strategic Partner Engagement and Prioritization: Lead our strategic supplier engagement framework, focusing on proactive, high-level interaction with key partners to strengthen accountability, drive strategic growth, and ensure Meta remains top of mind.
- Manage Capacity and Effective Scaling: Oversee supplier capacity assessments and the on-boarding program, ensuring the supply chain scales effectively with program demands.
- Optimize Partner Allocation and Planning: Develop and maintain an objective, data-driven partner allocation program to match the right partners with the right projects.
- Lead Scenario Analysis and Risk Management: Conduct detailed scenario analyses for supply chain options, providing data-driven insights to manage risk and inform capex and schedule commitments.
- Analyze Supplier Ecosystem: Evaluate suppliers' business strategies, capabilities, and growth areas to guide long-term partnerships and scaling decisions.
- Facilitate Strategic Reviews: Chair Supplier Strategic Business Reviews and touchpoints, often involving leadership and supplier C-suite leaders.
- Contribute to Thought Leadership: Develop new supply chain strategies and concepts that contribute to the organization's thought leadership.
Required Qualifications
- 12+ years of progressive experience in engineering or construction roles, with a focus on program, commercial, or strategic supply chain management.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. Demonstrated ability to lead as an individual contributor and influence without direct authority across complex stakeholder environments.
- Demonstrated proficiency in strategic communication and negotiation skills, with experience in developing and executing strategic communication plans for high-level partner engagement and executive reviews.
- Proficient in understanding construction means and methods, project sequencing, critical path schedules, and cost estimating for large capital projects.
- Proven communications skills with experience in developing both short- and long-term strategic communication plans.
- Solid knowledge of conceptual budgeting, cost estimating, and scheduling tools.
- Working knowledge of industry standards and codes.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and other tools required to plan and communicate work products.
- Experience with mission critical, infrastructure, and/or data center construction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters or License in an Engineering Discipline such as Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Construction Management.
- 15+ years of experience, including both office and field roles, demonstrating industry expertise critical for effective scaling.
- Advanced experience or certification in Project Management, Leadership, Logistics, or Communications.
- Broad range of work experience from different facets of the supply chain (Owner, General Contractor, Trade Contractor, Supplier, Vendor, Consultant), providing a holistic view to inform scaling and allocation strategies.
- Proven experience collaborating with leadership and C-suite executives in partner organizations, enhancing the alignment of strategic objectives.
